Movement is my joy and my passion.

It is my privilege to be a part of your rebuilding journey!

Hi, I’m Joanna!

In addition to being a physiotherapist and strength coach, I am a runner, barbell exerciser, novice yogi and a massive sports fan. (Be warned, I can talk about cycling and soccer for hours!)

I love to read, do jigsaw puzzles and spend my first waking moments drinking tea on my front porch, summer or winter!

I believe in exercise to support a full, joyful and healthy life and live my own life in alignment with this belief.

My approach as a physiotherapy is rooted in 20+ years of coaching experience. I see my self as your guide, to compassionately walk with you on your healing journey.

Here are some of my career highlights:

  • Queen’s University, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, 2009

  • Strength coach certification obtained in 2013

  • Physiotherapist and fitness director with the Ottawa Police Service

  • Physiotherapist and strength coach for endurance and strength athletes, from teen to masters

  • Level 1 Bonefit Certified from Osteoporosis Canada

When injuries happen, our amazing bodies heal and recover through time and a balance of progressive movement and rest.

When working with me to rehabilitate from injury, my focus is on your goals and the path that will lead you towards them.

What are all of the things you want to be able to do, free from pain and restriction?

The foundation of your physiotherapy will be figuring out what progressive movement, balanced with space for recovery, looks like for you.

Expect discussions, collaborations, exercises, follow-up emails and hopefully moments of laughter and joy along the way!

I’d love to work with you!
